The 40 series cutter is equipped with a tension additive brake system. The Integral Tension Device (ITD) is mounted on the cutter. Two rubber rolls grip the passing tow. A pneumatic operated disc brake applies braking force to the rolls. A precision regulator controls the brake application. The brake disc is ventilated using racing technology to provide continuous braking without overheating. Tension up to 150 lbf [660N] is available.
